GREED

This watercolor titled GREED, voices that greed is the basis of the Economic Crisis. It was very difficult to create such a "concrete and dismal" subjet. Since all of us at my workplace have had to take concessions I've been wanting to voice my frustration. The painting will be displayed at council in Toronto next week and then onto the Mayworks Festival. Afterwards, you can view it at the CAW local 88 office were its has been donated.

Collection of Pebbles

In memory of Pebbles, I'm reposting the artwork I did of her. This morning we found her gone to kittykat heaven on the roadside. She was only ten months old but in that time she brought a new life into our household and we will never forget it. She had so much energy she seemed unstoppable except for a car bumper I guess.
Cheers to Pebbles, you will be missed

The Old Guitarist

The Old Guitarist by Pablo Picasso is an oil reproduction I painted in 1977, I was only 16 at the time. I used only my fingers, cotton swabs and rags to produce this piece, enjoy!

Kirwin Barn

I painted the Kirwin Barn back in 1999, when I lived across the street. At 3 Pine street, I sat on my front covered porch and enjoyed a day of art. It is a 16 x 20 oil medium painting. It was one of the few paintings I did since being a teenager. I will try find others to post for your interest. If you drive by the farm today you will notice the roof of the silo is gone and the property is for sale. I will be sad to see such nostalgia go.

These paintings were alot of fun, I used oil based paint and mounted them together on one board. I love how the two are tied together and the three different visuals.
Don't forget you can subscribe to my blog and get up to date info as I add it. I've returned from PEI and now getting back to the grind. I will be posting more pics of some of my art work soon, and maybe pics of our trip.

Bio

In the past six months I have been attempting to refresh my art skills. Being in my 50th year I figured its better late than never. I'm not new in the art world though. In my early teens, having grown up in the great white north of Kapuskasing Ontario, my talent was discovered. I plan to post some of my earlier artwork for those who are interested. Anyways, having an appreciation for nature and nostalgia a budding artist was born. Meri Stewart for those who remember her, taught me many techniques. During this time I created oil paintings, mostly on commision. I'm sure there are several people up in Kapuskasing enjoying my artwork today. In later years I married, started a family and responsibility put my artwork at a pause. Having the many characteristics of an artist I haven't been able to stay away and in my dreams I have created, only now it is no longer another fantasy. I am now again creating, watercolor and acrylic have become my newest medium, I am so pleased with myself. I want to share my accomplishments with you. I would also like to share through my re-newed experience, all my connections and we can enjoy artistic creation together into the future.
